My family is in a very difficult situation, and we are reaching out for help.

We are a single mom and three daughters who are getting back on our feet after years of medical and emotional hardship. We recently moved with the help of our church, who kindly covered 8 hours of moving. Unfortunately, the moving company we hired took advantage of us. Instead of helping us transition safely, they stalled to increase the time and cost, then held our belongings hostage until we made another payment. When they finally unloaded, they dumped everything hastily into our garage, backyard, and only the first floor of our new home. Our mattresses and other essential items are buried and inaccessible, making it hard to live normally.

Almost all of our food was lost because the movers disassembled our refrigerator and never put it back together. They also trashed the home we moved from—throwing clothes out of drawers, damaging furniture, and creating a huge mess. My family was forced to rent a truck and move the rest of our belongings by ourselves.

Both my mom and I are disabled with back issues, and during this process, I injured myself so severely that I had to go to the ER. I currently can't walk, sit, or even breathe without extreme pain.

We are asking for help to cover:

• The unexpected moving costs

• Hiring a crew to help organize and fix the mess in our home

• Replacing the food we lost

• Covering medical and other unexpected expenses
