My dear friend is a single mom to two wonderful kids, ages 4 and 11. She’s the kind of person who always puts others first—she’s the mom who brings snacks for every child at the park, the neighbor who checks in on you when you’re having a tough day, and the friend who gives her time and energy to help others, even when she has little left for herself. Now, she and her children are facing something no family should ever have to go through.

A fire recently destroyed their home and nearly all of their belongings. The smoke alarm didn’t go off, but thanks to quick-thinking neighbors who called 911, everyone made it out safely. Still, they’re left without a safe place to live and have lost so much. They need help replacing essentials like clothes, toys, hygiene products, and food. They also need funds for temporary housing while their home is repaired, and ideally, to help them move to a safer place where they can start fresh.
