My name is Benjamin Rodriguez. We had a really bad house fire that started in my daughter’s room and caused heavy smoke damage throughout the house. I’m so grateful my family is safe but we lost one cat. It has been really rough but mentally it’s been tough. School is around the corner and my kids both lost all their clothes. I have not slept for two days because cleaning and recovering stuff that’s salvable. Only time I have ever felt a lost like this was in Katrina. I’m so happy my kids are fine but clothes wise they lost everything including school uniforms. I’ve helped with gofundme for other people but never thought I would be making one for myself. It started off so small but it did so much damage. Physically we are all moving but mentally we are all hurt. We are hoping to hear back from insurance but atm we don’t even have power. I just want things to go back to normal but it’s so hard just to be positive and happy in front the kids. I just hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else because it’s so stressful and draining. My kids start school in 3 weeks and I’m freaking out. Both their bedrooms was destroyed from fire, water, and smoke damage.
