Help a family of 6 facing, eviction, violence and crisis
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Mia, and I am a 17 year old student, currently studying for my Alevels, trying to support my family through one of the most worst and stressful times.
We’re a black family of 6 living in a very cramped space in chelmsford. My dad is the only parent working and I have a part time job that can only do so much to help. My mum has been out of work for a while for a various amount of reasons. One being because of mental and physical health issues. For example she had an attack at work which lead to her being off work, she sometimes has a “sickle cell crisis” where she has painful episodes due to sickle cell. My mum also had my baby brother where she was on maternity leave, then a few months later we get physically assaulted by a neighbour.
The assault left her with broken glasses, hair pulled from the scalp, severe damage to her hand, bruises and it also left me with broken glasses. My little siblings saw the whole thing from when the neighbour had brought to people to our house up until the police arrived after the attack. The police closed the case after giving the neighbour a small fine and a criminal record. As she didn’t want to go to court, we couldn’t take it to court even though we really wanted to. We still live next to each other and my 5 year old sister is frightened every time she sees her. In this same time period our car has gotten stolen which has added stress to our family.
Now, we have been given an eviction letter, with no other home to go to and not a great amount of support offered. My parents are mentally and physically exhausted.
As her daughter I’m trying to help as much as i can - looking after my younger siblings, taking care of the household, managing my own mental health, all while preparing for my Alevels in May. I am trying to help as much as I can.
For those who know my parents, they are now aware that I am doing this but please do not contact them about this situation because they don’t need any more added stress to their lives and all I am asking for is a small donation to go towards the money that we owe just to help as much as possible. Even sharing this would mean the world to us. We have fought so hard and we have put our faith in God. I hope this also spreads a bit of awareness of what a lot of people go through in their lives. Thank you for reading, God bless.
