Queridos amigos

Quiero compartir la historia de una familia de muy bajos recursos en Santa Rosa de Cabal, Colombia, que necesita de nuestra ayuda para poder tener una vivienda segura y digna.

Esta familia está compuesta por una madre, un padre y tres hijos pequeños.

• La mamá trabaja por días en casas de familia, ya que debe cuidar a su hija menor de 4 años, quien presenta algunas complicaciones de salud.

• El papá trabaja en una empresa con un salario mínimo, que apenas alcanza para el mercado, los servicios públicos y los medicamentos que la EPS no entrega.

• Los dos hijos mayores estudian y hacen todo lo posible por continuar sus estudios.

Cuentan con un pequeño lote heredado, pero la casa que habitan está hecha con materiales muy frágiles (esterilla), y cuando llueve, los niños se mojan y pasan frío.

Nuestro objetivo es mejorar las condiciones de su vivienda: cerrar el lote, reforzar las habitaciones y brindarles un hogar seguro donde puedan crecer con dignidad.

Transparencia:

El dinero recaudado no será entregado directamente a la familia. Se coordinará con un almacén de materiales, que suministrará los insumos a medida que avance la construcción. Familiares y vecinos participarán en la obra, ya que no cuentan con recursos para pagar un maestro.

Al finalizar el proyecto, se enviarán fotos y evidencia a todos los donantes como muestra de gratitud y transparencia.

Cada aporte, por pequeño que sea, acerca a esta familia al sueño de tener un hogar digno.

Dear friends

I would like to share the story of a humble family from Santa Rosa de Cabal, Colombia, who are facing very difficult circumstances and need our help to have a safe and dignified home.

The family consists of a mother, father, and three young children.

• The mother works part-time cleaning homes because she must care for her 4-year-old daughter, who has some health complications.

• The father works full-time, earning a minimum wage, which barely covers food, utilities, and medicines not provided by public healthcare

• The two older children are studying and doing their best to stay in school.

They own a small piece of land, inherited from their family, but their house is built with fragile materials (woven bamboo walls), and when it rains, the children get wet and cold.

Our goal is to improve their living conditions — to build a proper enclosure around the lot, reinforce the rooms, and give the children a safe, dry place to live.

Transparency:

The funds raised will not be given directly to the family. They will be managed through a local materials store, which will supply materials as the construction progresses. Family members and neighbors will contribute their labor since they cannot afford a professional builder.

When the project is completed, photos and updates will be shared with all donors to show how your kindness made a difference.

Every contribution, no matter how small, brings this family closer to a safe and dignified home.
