Help a family get back their home, justice and out of a tent

My name is John B, and I’m a father fighting to protect my three children — two sons and a daughter and our little pup (in my full time care) — while battling a system that has stripped us of our home, our rights, and basic justice.

I paid off my home entirely myself after breaking my neck, back and skull years earlier whilst a passenger in a friends car when he crashed, yet due to a series of court actions by the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA), we have been forced out and left with nowhere to live. My children and I are currently homeless — living in a tent — and my eldest son just spent his 12th birthday with me in a tent instead of the home he has known his whole life.

The court appointed a Litigation Guardian over me without my consent, who acted against my best interests and appeared to favour the other party and their lawyers. I was not consulted, and vital decisions affecting my life and children were made without me. I have tried every legal avenue, contacted every authority, written to Premier, ministers, Judges, police, courts, and media — with no protection or justice given.

I am now trying to overturn these unjust orders and sue the government for the damages caused to me and my children — but in order to do that, I need legal representation in the High Court, and somewhere safe to live in the meantime. The cost of engaging a senior barrister (or KC/SC) to take this matter to the High Court is far beyond what I can afford, especially while homeless and trying to provide for my children.

Why I am asking for $120,000

Approx. $70,000–$90,000 for legal fees to challenge the FCFCOA judgment and hold authorities accountable

$20,000 for temporary stable housing/rent so my children and I can get out of the tent and live in safety while the case proceeds

Remaining funds for filing fees, document preparation costs, travel for court appearances, and food/basic supplies for my children

I have documented everything: affidavits, letters, tribunal orders, and evidence showing I paid for the house, that my children have always primarily been in my care, and that the litigation guardian acted without consulting me. Everything I’m saying here is backed by documented evidence.

I have fought this alone for as long as I can. I am not asking for a handout — I am asking for help to obtain justice, protect my children, and reclaim our home. If I can raise these funds, I will engage a High Court barrister immediately and secure safe accommodation for my children while this case goes forward.
