This is a fundraiser for dear friends of mine. They are a loving family who have had their share of tests and trials in providing their transgender child with the support they need and deserve. Ensuring their child’s anonymity right now is paramount, so I am holding this space for their family.


They have relentlessly pushed onwards so that their child can feel supported and cared for in an affirming home. They are now very close to having enough money to make a down payment on an affordable, owner-financed home, nothing short of a miracle, which will make a huge difference in their ability to continue providing needed support for their child. They had been only $1000 short as of last month, but due to unforeseen legal complications, they are now reaching out for community support.


***My friends still need to raise $5000 in order to meet their goal for the down payment. They were supposed to close on the home on May 28th, but due to some delays with the closing, they have more time and will be closing in mid-June.*** 

***UPDATE 6/18- Thankfully due to some further delays with steps for closing, the need for the down payment and closing costs is now pushed out to mid-July giving the family nearly another month. Thanks to everyone for your generosity thus far, they are close to needing only $3,000 more to reach the goal!

***UPDATE 7/30 - The closing was further delayed due to the title company (a blessing that has allowed more time) and the family finally received their tax refund which has put them $2,000 closer. Thanks to several more donations, we are now just $745 shy of the down payment goal.

There are also ongoing legal and mental healthcare debts which have been incurred to advocate for and to provide support for their child, the most pressing in the amount of $1750 which have become even more necessary to continue advocating for mental health care needs to be met. Any additional funds raised beyond what they need for the house down payment will go to addressing these outstanding debts so that current needs can continue to be adequately supported.***
