Help a Survivor Mom and Child Find Safety and a Fresh Start

Hi, my name is Amanda. I’ve experienced trauma myself and know how hard it can be to start over. I’m creating this fundraiser for a very dear friend of mine who is courageously escaping a domestic violence situation on her own.

Due to some of the details in the current situation, for her safety and that of her child, I'd like to keep her personal information private, but I want to remind everyone that domestic violence isn’t always physical. It can be emotional, mental, and fear-based too.

My friend has always been the first to help others — volunteering at school, showing up for neighbors, and lending a hand whenever someone needed it. Over the past few years, though, her independence has been slowly stripped away — first financially, then emotionally, and finally, her sense of safety. She’s been left feeling trapped, alone, and without value. No one should ever feel that way.

Now, she’s taking the brave step to rebuild her life and provide safety and stability for her child. This fundraiser will help her:

‐Secure safe, long-term housing that allows pets

‐Repair her unreliable vehicle so she can get to work and care for her child

‐Purchase basic household items and furniture once housing is secured

She currently has temporary shelter, but it’s not a long-term solution — and with a cold, wet winter ahead, finding a safe, stable home is urgent.

Despite enduring emotional, mental, and physical abuse, she continues to do everything she can to give her child a sense of normalcy and hope. She is a wonderful mother, a kind friend, and someone who truly deserves a fresh start.
