I am raising funds for a 47-year-old American Muslim sister who is currently going through one of the most difficult moments of her life.

She is divorced, disabled, and living **out of her car** with no close family nearby to support her. Her father died when she was young, and most of her family live in another continent.

She was involved in a serious car accident that left her spine fused with titanium screws. Since then, she has lived with chronic pain and cognitive difficulties that make it extremely difficult for her to work.

She is a volunteer in her local mosque during Ramadhan. She reached out to the masjid to see if it would be possible to stay in the extra rooms used for Islamic studies, she was allowed to stay in there for a couple days but then the board members voted her out and claimed she is a liability. Someone suggested her to a low cost accommodation, but the room had bedbugs and wasn't somewhere she could stay. However, they denied her refund which she could use to pay for another place. (images attached for the bedbugs and how she was bitten)

She has also been denied disability benefits and is trying to find legal help to appeal the decision, but without stability or a safe place to live, every day becomes a fight just to get through and can't afford to fight other battles.

I quote her, "I applied for disability, I am filing for food stamps but I have to prove things and have an address to send my card. If you are a single mom with children in the US you get more help then if you are just single and alone. All the womans shelters are full cuz of winter, and I have Obama care which is health care from the government. And like I said I called 4 different islamic organizations, and local womans shelter. Ive exhausted all measures. The food benefit is like $130 a month. So its not even enough to last 1 person either. But alhamdulilah for everything. "

Right now, a friend offered her basement for a limited time but after that time frame, her car is the only option she has. We are trying to raise funds that doesn't happen as it did before.
