The Fight for a Father’s Rights

For nearly four years, my brother has been locked in a relentless custody battle — not because he’s done anything wrong, but because the system can be exploited to wear good parents down.

All he’s ever wanted is a stable, loving relationship with his son. What should have been a straightforward parenting plan has turned into a legal war of attrition — dragged out by the other parent, who’s used delay tactics to drive up costs and push him to give up.

To make matters worse, the legal fees have been staggering. Attorneys bill subjectively and aggressively, often making little actual progress, with no accountability for the financial damage they cause.

We’ve done everything we can to keep him in this fight:

- He sold his truck.

- He refinanced his home.

- He took out a HELOC.

- I have paid tens of thousands — all to make sure he has legal support and doesn’t lose his rights as a father.
