My name is Sven, and my daughter Grace is my world.
She is my reason to keep going when everything else has fallen away.
The past year has been one of the hardest of my life. A painful separation, repeated job loss, and the collapse of stability forced me to rebuild from nothing. This came on top of a serious accident in 2021 and extensive spinal surgery, leaving me living daily with Cauda Equina Syndrome and Functional Neurological Disorder. These conditions make traditional, full-time work unpredictable and, at times, impossible. I lost my job three times this year alone—not because of a lack of skill or drive, but because my body could no longer keep up with rigid systems.
Despite this, every day I choose consistency, calm, and presence for Grace. I focus on giving her safety, routine, and the reassurance that her dad is still here—still building.
What I’m rebuilding toward isn’t just survival.
It’s independence with dignity.
I’m restarting my career as a design engineer, working from home where my health can be managed sustainably. Design is what I know. It’s what I’ve spent years developing, refining, and mastering. Even on an old, borrowed laptop, I’ve been able to rebuild my vision piece by piece.
For those who believe in “seeing is believing,” you can already see what I’m capable of here:
That work was created under severe limitations.
Now imagine what could be built with a modern, reliable workstation.
This fundraiser exists to bridge that gap.
Your support helps me:
Rebuild reliable income and regain independence
Create long-term stability for Grace
Build a home where she has her own room, her own space
Launch Gekos Design Studio, a studio focused on high-end web design, cinematic branding, digital art, and psychologically intentional design
Funds will be used for:
A capable computer that can handle professional creative work
Essential design and development software
Startup and hosting costs for the business
A small buffer for living essentials while income stabilises
Every contribution—£5, £10, £20, or any amount—becomes part of Grace’s foundation. She often asks why we don’t have a home together yet. With your help, I can honestly say, “We’re building toward it.”
And if donating isn’t possible, your support still matters.
If you have spare or unused computer parts, or even a workstation that could be passed on, I would be deeply grateful. I’m willing to build what I can with what’s available.
Sharing this story, following the journey, or simply believing in what’s being built here—all of it helps.
We’re not asking for charity.
We’re asking for a chance to turn proven ability into stability.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for believing.
And thank you for being part of this rebuild.
Sven
