Friends --

We are reaching out to garner support for a recent high school graduate in our community who is experiencing challenging circumstances.

This gentle, kind, curious, and all-around wonderful young woman recently graduated from a local high school. She is a strong student athlete and has been on track to begin college this Fall. Her composure and discipline are impressive.

She has been given a rough shake, however, and it has been particularly difficult these past few months. Barely 18, she has been living alone in a local apartment complex, with no parental presence, working full time, often double shifts, to pay for food, toiletries, and clothes.

She has persevered, notwithstanding tumult and insecurity in her home environment. However, utilities were recently shut off, and she had to leave her apartment. She will stay with friends and work all summer to remain on track to start college in a few months.

No teenager should have to go through what this young woman has—fending for herself without a safe home, faced with uncertainty, and worse. She has incredible will, and we are confident that she will thrive as she finds her sea legs in college.

Please consider making a donation to help this brave and resilient young woman start her young adult life on the right foot. Any support would go a long way toward providing help as she navigates this transition independently, without the family support many of us take for granted.
