Help a Democratic Veteran attend the DNC as a delegate
Donation protected
So, for those unaware, I was elected as a National Delegate from Texas Congressional District 12 to the Democratic National Convention next month. My pitch was (a) that it seemed in early June that it might prove to be an interesting and potentially contentious convention, (b) it should prove beneficial to have politically experienced and level-headed individuals on the floor. (c) that I've given my all to the party for the last three decades or so while asking for nothing in return, and (d) I'm an old fart on my way off the stage and this would/will be my first and last national convention. Thanks to all who supported me - I'm honored.
Who knew it might prove existential!
Also for those unaware, delegates foot their own bill for all expenses for the 5-day trek including, but not limited to, airfare and other travel, lodging, meals and ancillary expenses. I'm old enough to collect social security but don't yet, am working half time by my own choice, never have been or will be particularly well off. Which means this little public service trip threatens to come out of the family coffers. Again. (Man, they've sure paid a price for my political activism...)
Unless of course some kindly friends and supporters are inclined to offer an assist. If so, I've done a first for me and set up a Pay Pal account, and can also accept contributions by Zelle. If you're inclined, send me a PM and I'll get you the donation info. If not, I still love you and will be there anyway. Any contributions in excess of actual incurred expenses will go towards serious Democratic candidates' serious campaigns or Beto's Voter Registration efforts.
Thanks in advance for considering.
PS. It should go without saying that opinions from those who help get me there and save me from surviving on trail mix for a week on how you'd like the process to play will carry extra weight... ;-)
