For years, Carlos Harry has been building bikes for marginalized communities and their members, when they could not afford them otherwise. He was instrumental in the Seattle Bike Project’s efforts to spread bikes throughout the city to those that needed them, and after the Project’s disbanding, continued with singular focus on providing for those in need.
Now, very difficult times have brought on larger problems, and have forced him to take on a massive amount of debt and stress. Though gainfully employed, Carlos has no means of earning enough to pay off his debt AND stay fed with a roof over his head. He is behind on rent, is suffering from food insecurity, and cannot purchase the necessary parts to finish current projects, (not to mention the fact that his phone is shut off). In the midst of all of this, Carlos was beginning to realize that he was deeply affected by latent mental health problems, as well as problems with addiction. These problems soon worked their way into every aspect of his life, until eventually Carlos found himself alone and in crisis.now, though hanging on by a thread, Carlos still works hard to help others and is trying to help himself as well. Can we all give him a small hand up to help him in his efforts?
The money earned here will go directly to paying for treatment, paying off delinquent bills, buying groceries, and paying rent.
