Help Your New Chicago Neighbors
Donation protected
A family of four recently relocated from Venezuela to the Chicago area.
With two young children, ages five and three, they've encountered various challenges as they work to establish themselves in their new city.
Your support would be greatly appreciated as they navigate this transition and seek to build a stable and fulfilling life here.
Hi there,
My name is Sam (he/him), a 27-year-old Jewish musician based in Chicago, on the ancestral lands of the Council of the Three Fires (Ojibwe, Odawa, Potawatomi) and other Indigenous nations including the Miami, Ho-Chunk, Menominee, Sac, Fox, Kickapoo, and Illinois.
Over the past year, I've been involved in transformative work, connecting with and learning from individuals and families in Chicago striving for safety, peace, and liberation.
Recently, I connected with a young Venezuelan family—two parents in their 20s and their two young children under 6—who arrived in Chicago with remarkable courage. A few weeks ago, they were homeless and living in a motel. I’m happy to report that they now have stable housing, provided they can keep up with their bills.
I’ve set up this GoFundMe to help them cover monthly expenses and immediate needs like food, clothing, home goods, and transportation while they work toward long-term stability. Your monetary donations are greatly appreciated, but any support—whether sharing this page, offering your time, or providing resources—would also make a significant difference in ensuring a stable future for this family.

Thanks SO much!
