Hello everyone,
My name is Chagia Duke, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart after the unimaginable loss my family has suffered. I am a mom of three, with another little one on the way, and one of the many families devastated by the Eaton Canyon fire in Altadena.
The image you see doesn’t begin to capture the heartache I feel—not just for myself, but for my children, who keep asking, “What happened to our house?” I understand that material things can be replaced, but it’s incredibly hard to see everything you’ve worked so hard for vanish in just 12 hours.
I’m grateful my family and I were able to evacuate in time, but we left with only the clothes on our backs and a small bag for my kids. As we navigated through what felt like a war zone, there was no power, no sense of safety—just the urgent need to get out.
At this time, I am humbly asking for your help. Whether big or small, any contribution will make a meaningful difference for me and my family as we try to continue our faith and hope to return to altadena.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I know God has my back and will help guide me back for my family... the question is, where do I start?
