Help Rebuild Our Lives After the Hurricane
Hello, my name is Krysta Powell. I am from Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica, and today I am humbly asking for your help. I would like to support the communities of Santa Cruz, Newell, and Black River, who are suffering deeply after this devastating storm.
Our parish was hit hard by the hurricane, and life as we knew it changed overnight. Homes were torn apart, streets flooded, and entire families left with nothing. What used to be safe spaces are now filled with water damage, debris, and heartbreak. Every day I wake up trying to stay strong, but the reality is overwhelming.
I am not only fighting for myself… I am fighting for my family, my neighbors, and my community. So many of us have nowhere to go, no dry clothes, no food, no safe shelter, and no sense of security. Watching children cry, elders in shock, and families holding on to whatever little they have left — it hurts deeply in a way that words can barely express.
Even in the middle of my own loss, my heart is to help my community rebuild. These are the people who raised us, supported us, and loved us. Right now, we are all trying to stand again — hand in hand — with nothing but faith, courage, and each other.
We are starting from nothing, but with prayer, strength, and kindness from others, I truly believe we will rise again.
If you can donate, no matter how small, you are not just helping me… You are helping an entire community survive, rebuild, and hope again.
Your support means more than you will ever know.
Thank you for praying for us, lifting us up, and standing with us in this painful time. God bless you always.
