Help C.H.F. Hospital Continue Earthquake Relief

Who are we?
We are the Centre Hospitalier de Fontaine Foundation (C.H.F.F.)
Our mission is to provide comprehensive support services to underfunded schools and hospitals serving high risk, under-served, marginalized Haitian communities around the world through a strong network of partners.

Why do we do it?
To support the primary employers of each community and move them towards sustainability.
To bridge the gap in the lack of access to adequate healthcare & education due to low numbers of qualified professionals, and resources.
To provide supporters of Haiti who are overseas with a network of organizations that they can trust. 

Our overarching goal: Sustainability
C.H.F. Foundation’s  overarching goal is to reduce the dependence on outside aid for the facilities and organizations we support by creating and strengthening revenue generating services in their communities.


All the while partnering with institutions in Cite Soleil, the C.H.F.F. has undertaken a plan for immediate and long term relief in the south of Haiti after it has been traversed by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake. This plan uses our partner Hospital in Cite Soleil, as a resource for those who cannot be taken care of in the South of Haiti at the moment.

The C.H.F.F.’s partner hospital (Centre Hospitalier de Fontaine/C.H.F.) would like to increase the capacity of care that it provides to the survivors of the earthquake coming to Port-au-Prince for treatment. The capabilities of our facilities are limited. We would like to upgrade our services in order to alleviate the burden on the overwhelmed hospitals in the south of Haiti. We have three impending needs in order for us to be more efficient in the care of survivors. 

These needs are:

-Medical equipment and supplies; the C.H.F.F. through its network of partners works to find hospitals, pharmaceutical and medical technology companies that have the items that hospital needs that cannot be found and purchased in Haiti. We run into a problem when it comes time to ship these items to Haiti. This fundraiser would allow for the payment of shipping for two 40 foot containers transporting medical supplies and equipment.
-Ambulance; the C.H.F. Hospital at this time does not have its own mode of transport for critical care patients. Often times this results in trauma patients suffering more injury and pain on their way to the hospital. The HERO foundation has allowed C.H.F. to use its ambulances and MEDEVAC helicopter, however the demand for HERO rescues is far and wide and as an organization they are spread thin. This fundraiser would allow the Hospital in Cite Soleil to be autonomous, with its own ambulance.
-Bus; right now volunteers going back and forth between our partner hospital and the areas in need, do not have a sure mode of transportation . As we mentioned before, they depend on the availability of HERO. This fundraiser would increase the autonomy of the aid that they provide by giving volunteers sure and secure always available transport.

Our plan:There are 2 Initial phases. Each Phase is divided into 2 parts.We are simultaneously working on both phases. This plan started effectively on August 15th, 2021. Phases will be ongoing simultaneously. 

Phase 1a/quick emergency response (in partnership with HERO)
Dispatch teams & resources to the southern region.
Assess damage
Treat
Report back to C.H.F. Hospital to prepare for survivors.

Phase 1b/patient treatment
With resources currently available to C.H.F. Hospital it can set aside :
20 beds for expectant mothers in need of emergency pre-natal and natal care.
50 beds for Seniors to provide them with food, shelter, and health services.
Area for X-rays starting on August 18th/19th 2021

Phase 2a/materials and supplies
The C.H.F.F. model is set to promote the local economy & small businesses.
We are contacting distributors in Haiti for medications and medical supplies that they can provide
We purchase and distribute from Haiti first.

Phase 2b/materials and supplies 
Getting items we could not get in Haiti from abroad.
We're contacting distributors from neighboring Caribbean islands first, then the States.
We are looking for individuals or institutions to sponsor private charters of supplies from the U.S. and its territories .

What we plan to do in the future

In collaboration with the REVIVE Foundation and its partners, the C.H.F. F. will provide children of patients & seniors from the affected areas who come to C.H.F. Hospital with mental health assistance, and partake in enrichment activities.
