Help 86-Year-Old Avoid Bankruptcy After Unjust Eviction
Donation protected
What do you do when your generous, loving 86-year-old grandmother is facing unjust commercial eviction and financial ruin just years after losing her husband of 63 years? You turn to the community for support.
Lilah Warren and her late husband, Don, founded Rumbleseat Restorations in 1969. For over 50 years, they restored countless vintage and modern cars, building a legacy of craftsmanship, integrity, and generosity. The business became a local landmark, known for turning rusted shells into award-winning showpieces.
But the last decade has brought immense challenges: Don's battle with Alzheimer’s, his passing in 2022, a pandemic, and mounting financial pressures. Despite many efforts to sell the physical business and allow Lilah a debt-free retirement, serious buyers were blocked by the building landlord.
Now Lilah has been given a 30-day eviction notice to be out of the commercial space they've occupied for 37 years. Lilah was denied even a modest 60-day extension to settle the business and avoid devastating losses. If nothing changes, she could face over $100,000 in debt and personal bankruptcy which is an impossible burden for anyone, let alone an 86-year-old widow.
We’re doing all we can as a family, but we urgently need your help.
Here’s how you can support:
1. Donate to this GoFundMe. Every dollar goes directly to helping Lilah Warren avoid bankruptcy and close this chapter with dignity.
2. Buy equipment from the business before May 31. Email: [email redacted]
for details on the items for sale which include paint booths, compressors, air dryers, hoists, welders, racking, office furniture, tools, and more.
Don and Lilah Warren have given so much to their family, friends, community, and customers. Let’s help give Lilah peace in return.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
The Warren Family
PS. Could the business still be sold without the building? Technically, yes - but realistically, it’s nearly impossible. At 86, Lilah cannot handle the immense logistics of relocating a full auto restoration shop, especially with just 30 days to vacate the building. The limited time and her age make a proper sale or transition without the building nearly unworkable.
