HELP 6 HOSPITALITY WORKERS RECOVER £14000 IN UNPAID WAGES

Donation protected
Six former hospitality workers are asking for something incredibly simple; the wages they earned.

Between us, we are owed approximately £14,000 for work that we completed. We turned up for our shifts, worked long hours, covered weekends, dealt with customers, and helped keep the business running.
Like anyone else, we expected to be paid for the work we did.

Instead, we were left out of pocket.

Here is the breakdown:

Employee ONE aka L - £3,030.59
Employee TWO aka S - £2,086.66
Employee THREE aka SH - 3,900.00
Employee FOUR aka V - £1,200.00
Employee FIVE aka S - £1,800.00
Employee SIX aka P - £500

The owner of the bar has very recently closed the business down and is going through insolvency. Business assets are being liquidated yet this will not cover our wages in the slightest.

The business was about to be investigated by the HMRC but because it is now closed, the HMRC cannot investigate.

Since leaving our employment, we have made repeated efforts to recover what we believe we are owed.
For some of us, those missing wages have meant struggling to pay rent, cover household bills, or simply move forward after leaving a very difficult working environment.

While some formal routes to recover unpaid wages may be available, they can take months—or even longer—to resolve. In the meantime, the financial impact is immediate.
The likelihood of receiving help from the government has drastically fallen ever since the intentional closure of the bar by the owner.

That's why we're asking for help and that is why we are hoping to raise money.

Our goal is to raise £14,000, representing the combined wages that six former employees confirmed that they are still owed.

Every donation will go directly towards helping these six individuals recover financially from wages they know they should already have received.

If more money is raised than is ultimately needed for this purpose—for example, because some wages are later recovered through other means—we will clearly explain how any surplus will be handled before distributing it.
For example, to charity or towards legal costs for court tribunals or solicitor if/as necessary.

The funds raised will be divided between the six former employees based on the amount each person is owed, unless all recipients agree to another fair distribution.

We will publish updates throughout the campaign so supporters know how the funds are being used.

The reason why we are speaking out publicly about this is due to the fact that hospitality workers often feel they have little power when things go wrong.
Many simply walk away because challenging an employer can be stressful, expensive, and time-consuming.

By sharing our experience, we hope not only to recover what we're owed but also to encourage fair treatment of workers across the industry in addition to proving that treating your employees like this has never been nor will ever be acceptable.

We've documented our experience in detail, together with supporting information, in a Reddit post that almost 10,000 people have already read and discussed.
If you're considering donating, we encourage you to read it and make up your own mind.

If you're able to donate—even £1—you'll be helping six ordinary, fully deserving people recover from a situation that has had a real financial impact on lives.

If you can't donate, sharing this campaign with friends, family, or on social media is just as valuable to us. Getting our story out into the public eye is just as important as the thousands that the six of us are owed.

Every share increases the chance that these workers receive the support they need.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for standing with hospitality workers.
