Raymond's Update:
Richmond’s surgery went well last week. He’s was back on his feeding tube and continuing to recover. The morning after surgery, he opened his eyes and even gave the family his little “joker face” which was a moment of joy and relief.
This week, the medical team will begin slowly removing the machines one at a time as he continues to grow stronger. The family is deeply grateful for all the prayers, love, and support, every message and donation means so much.
Update – September 29 2025
As per Raymond;
Richmond is showing strength every day. He is now receiving nutrition through a feeding tube and continues to make small but steady progress. Tomorrow he faces an important surgery, and the family is asking for everyone’s prayers and support.

Help Support Richmond Sabido’s Fight Against Myocarditis
Richmond Sabido is a bright, kind, and energetic 5 year old boy whose world was suddenly turned upside down. Earlier this month, he was rushed by air ambulance from Calgary to the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton after being diagnosed with severe myocarditis ( a rare and life-threatening inflammation of the heart) .
Richmond is now in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, supported by ECMO life support, as his little heart fights to recover. His doctors have told the family to prepare for a long and uncertain hospital stay that could last weeks or even months.
A Family in Crisis
Richmond’s father, Raymond Sabido, is not just a devoted dad, he’s also a valued coworker here at Overland West , teammate, and friend. Like any parent would, he has put everything aside to be in Edmonton at his son’s bedside.
This sudden medical emergency has placed an enormous emotional and financial burden on the family. Between travel back and forth to Edmonton, accommodation costs, meals, and lost income while Raymond is away from work, the challenges are overwhelming.
How You Can Help
We are rallying together to show the Sabido family that they are not alone in this fight. Every dollar raised will go directly toward:
-Travel and accommodation in Edmonton
-Meals and daily living expenses
-Medical costs not covered by insurance
-Lost wages while Raymond is away from work
