Hi, my name is Teresa and my family and I are fundraising to be able to provide a home for four siblings that were recently placed in foster care. My husband Jason and I both have a heart for children as you can see our family in the picture, both of our sons are adopted, and have brought us great joy. Our oldest, Brian, also has a kind heart for others as was quick to say he wanted to help these children. When we were informed of these four siblings that were brought into foster care and had to be placed in separate homes as there was not one that could house all four, our hearts ached for them. We were asked if we would be willing to help keep them together and since we strongly believe that the sibling relationship is a strong bond that should not be broken by placement in foster care we agreed to pray and seeks God's guidance on the matter. These children range in age from 4 to 11 years old (I cannot give names as they are in Foster care and privacy restrictions are in place). We would like to be able to provide this placement for them so they can be together. Our home is large enough to provide a loving safe home for these children but we do not currently have four complete beds so we are asking for help in this area. The money raised would be used first for this purpose and is needed as soon as possible. We will also be needing to get a vehicle that can hold all of us, which would need to be an 8 passenger van/vehicle. I am not asking for money to buy a new vehicle in full, but money to put towards it to keep the payment affordable and money available in the budget for family activities such as sports, camp, and camping and/or beach trips! We will be taking classes to become certified foster parents but until that is complete we would not receive any assistance with regard to the children. The process can take 4-6 months to complete and the children's resource workers are looking to place them with us prior to the completion of the our class. We have prayed over this situation and believe that God will make a way! We have been working with DSS and the children's lawyers and God has already started opening the doors. We were originally slotted to take the class in October and got a call last week that a family dropped out of the July class and left an opening for us to attend sooner as the classes are limited in size. We are working on making a place for these children to come to and know that God will continue to open the doors and provide. I am not one to generally ask anyone for money so putting this together was a bit hard for me, but as I sit writing I hear God's voice saying "Ask, and it will be given". I know people cannot help if they do not know the need, so I'm writing to let you know of this need and pray that God will bless you ten times over for the gift you give!
