Hi, my name is Loretta Rominski, and I’m organizing this fundraiser for the benefit of the 2 young daughters of my dear friend, Laura.

On June 10th, Laura’s life took an unexpected turn when she was unexpectedly incarcerated. She had gone to court after being told by her attorney that she was pleading to community control with no jail time. Instead, she was sentenced to six months in county jail and immediately taken into custody with no opportunity to get her affairs in order or to even say goodbye to her family. Even more shocking, this sentence stemmed from a 2022 marijuana-related case, which made the outcome devastating for her and her family.

Laura is a hardworking mom who has always gladly carried the weight of providing for her family and running her businesses. She never asks for help, but right now, her daughters truly need it, so I am asking for them.

With Laura's absence, everything has been turned upside down—her 2 girls (both under 3 years old) are struggling emotionally, they are now faced with finding new housing, while the new business she and Marlon (the girls' dad) are in the process of opening, as well as the others she previously built, are in limbo.

While Marlon is trying to keep their little family fed and cared for, he was forced to stop his on-the-job training for the new business to care full-time for their 2 young daughters, as the pay was not even enough to cover childcare. This has depleted all of their reserves.

I am asking for help to support Laura’s family during this time and to help provide some stability for her girls until Laura is released in December.

All funds raised will go towards:

- Childcare and daily needs for the girls

- Securing new housing and covering basic living expenses

- Support to help keep Laura’s businesses afloat until she returns

- Re-entry costs when Laura comes home in December.
