On behalf of Diversified Yacht Services (DYS), and with the knowledge and support of Jaxon’s mother, we are organizing this fundraiser for our 17-year-old DYS team member, Jaxon, and his family.

Jaxon is a hardworking, kind young man and a valued member of our DYS family. He and his family recently received devastating news: Jaxon has been diagnosed with Stage 4A fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma, an extremely rare form of liver cancer. The cancer has also been found in his hepatic lymph nodes.

Jaxon has just started to undergo chemotherapy and immunotherapy. At only 17 years old, he is facing a difficult journey that no young person should ever have to endure.

In the midst of processing this diagnosis and going through treatment, Jaxon’s family is also being forced to move from their home because the water is not safe—even for bathing. This is especially concerning now that Jaxon has ports for his treatment and needs a clean, safe environment throughout his care.

Jaxon’s household consists of Jaxon, his brother, and their mother. His mom is now carrying the enormous responsibility of caring for her sons, finding them a safe place to live, and helping Jaxon through intensive cancer treatment—all at the same time.

The financial burden will be significant. In addition to medical expenses, the family is facing moving costs, security deposits, rent, transportation to appointments, meals, missed work, and the everyday household expenses that continue during treatment. Jaxon’s income from working at DYS also helps his family, but he will be unable to work regularly while undergoing treatment.

We are asking our employees, customers, friends, and community to rally around Jaxon and his family. Our goal is to ease some of their financial pressure so they can focus their energy on Jaxon’s treatment, comfort, and recovery.
