Hi, my name is Graham, and I’m raising funds for the 15-year-old daughter of my good friend Carl.
Nina has recently been diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (B-ALL) and has now begun chemotherapy. She faces a long treatment journey ahead, expected to last around 18 months.
Her illness has also affected her bones and spine, including a compression fracture in her back, leaving her dealing with significant pain and mobility problems alongside her cancer treatment.
At just 15 years old, Nina should be worrying about school, friends and being a teenager. Instead, her days now involve hospital appointments, chemotherapy, blood tests, medication and pain management.
Her mum has had to give up work in order to care for Nina, placing enormous financial pressure on the family at a time when their only focus should be helping their daughter through treatment.
The money raised will help with everyday household costs, travel to and from hospital, fuel, parking, food and the additional expenses that come with caring for a seriously ill child over such a long period.
Carl is one of the kindest and most generous people I know. He is the owner of Pagoda Patches and is known by many within our Wild Geese Explorers community. He has supported and helped so many of us over the years and is genuinely the sort of man who would give you the shirt off his back.
Now it is our opportunity to help him and his family.
We cannot take Nina’s illness away, but together we can take away some of the financial pressure and allow her parents to concentrate on what matters most — getting their daughter through this.
Any donation, no matter how small, will make a difference. If you cannot donate, please share Nina’s story.
Thank you for standing beside this family during the hardest journey of their lives.
No one fights alone.
