Hello, my name is Kimberly, and I am fundraising for my 11-year-old nephew, Ayden Velasquez, who was recently diagnosed with leukemia.
Ayden is a bright, loving boy who enjoys playing soccer, video games, and be a kid. To me, he is more than just my nephew — he is like a son. To my daughters, he is not only a cousin but also a brother, as they have grown up side by side as best friends. This year has already been incredibly difficult. Just 3 months ago, we lost our family patriarch, and now our world has been shaken again with Ayden’s diagnosis. The doctors have told us that Ayden’s treatment will last two years and has since started chemotherapy. That means many long weeks in the hospital, months of medications and procedures, and countless sacrifices for our family.
To make sure Ayden gets the care he needs, we are now supporting two households. My sister and him will stay in New York. At the same time, I’ll be caring for his younger brother. Between medical bills, household expenses, and emergency travel, the financial strain is overwhelming and will only grow as treatment continues.
Through it all, Ayden continues to inspire us. Even while facing treatments, his courage gives us strength, and with your help, we believe he can win this fight.
We are asking friends, family, and kind strangers to please stand with us. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference and allows us to focus on Ayden’s healing. If you are unable to donate, we ask that you please share his story and keep Ayden in your prayers.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting Ayden. With your love and generosity, we believe Ayden will overcome this and return to being the joyful, active boy we all love so deeply.
