The birth began naturally, but due to complications, the doctors decided to perform a forceps delivery. Unfortunately, the forceps delivery did not work, so an emergency cesarean section was performed. The birth took an incredibly long time, as Tomáško got stuck in the birth canal and subsequently had to be urgently resuscitated because he was not breathing. Immediately after the birth, he was urgently transported to the JIRS in Prešov with a diagnosis of severe postpartum asphyxia, where he underwent three days of controlled hypothermia due to concerns about damage to the cerebellum. After three days in hypothermia, Tomáško spent another week and a half in an incubator, breathing with the help of support devices. He moved minimally and has been probed since birth. When he was three weeks old, he began exercising using the Vojta method. Tomáško spent his entire first month in the Prešov Hospital since his birth. A month later, the good news came that Tomáško could go home. Unfortunately, Tomáško was only home for a week and a half, but due to his deteriorating health Unfortunately, Tomáško was home for only a week and a half, but due to his deteriorating health, he was hospitalized again in the Žilina Hospital in the children's intensive care unit. He was subsequently examined by specialists and a neurologist, who diagnosed Tomáško with axial hypotonus, acral hypertonus, with secondary epilepsy. He has not been able to suckle since birth and he could not even cry. We heard him cry for the first time exactly on February 21. We are still waiting for his first conscious smile. Tomáško is currently 4 months old and he is rehabilitating daily using the Vojta method, Bobath and handling. We are observing slight progress in his health in terms of body movement and he is slowly learning to drink from a bottle, but he still has to be probed because he cannot sleep enough for his further development. Since Tomáško is still very young, no one can tell him how his condition will develop. With regard to the finding on the cerebellum, which occurred as a result of a complicated birth, there is a possibility of developing DMO or PMR. The recommendations of many experts and specialists who examined Tomášek's health condition came to one common conclusion... that Tomášek could greatly improve his life prognosis by staying at the ADELI CENTRE in Piešťany. Since treatment and rehabilitation are very expensive, we cannot afford to finance the entire stay from our own resources, even though we are trying very hard. For this reason, we are asking for your help so that we can arrange Tomášek's stay at the centre. We believe that there will be people willing to help. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts on behalf of Tomášek and us.
