Hello from the heart of gaza
We are Baraa and Hamsa , We live in Gaza We got engaged on the 10th of the year 2022 and got married on the 8th of 2023. We were lucky to have a beautiful life full of happiness, and our only concern was how we would create a beautiful and integrated life together.
From the moment we met, we were planning what our home would be like and how we would build it together with love and make it a beautiful family home full of children.
But on October 7, 2023, the events of the war began in Gaza, forcing us to leave our home to go to another place to search for safety. We moved from our place many times. Every time we moved in search of safety, we found the situation getting worse, but there was nothing we could do just wait.
On the night of December 21, we received news of the bombing of the area where our house is located. The next morning, we went to see that the building containing our apartment and the entire surrounding area had been completely destroyed.
At this moment, I felt that all our dreams and efforts had gone in an instant, and we were not even given the opportunity to say goodbye. For our house or even to take our things from it. All I could see from the house were some of our clothes scattered among the rubble.
After time passed, we knew that God would bless us with a child whose birth date would be in the month of August 2024, but now we are without a home and the path of our life is unknown after the war. We do not know where our home will be or even what our lives will be like after the war.
In the end, we just want to say that our life before the war was much better, but now we need your help to regain our strength and be able to build a new life for us and our child, who we hope will have a better life than the one we got.
Our lives have been completely destroyed by the war. My family lost everything — our home was reduced to rubble, and my father, Dr. Mahdi, lost both his house and his medical clinic. My brother’s future plans and dreams were shattered as everything he worked for in Gaza was destroyed.
I am asking for your help so we can rebuild our lives. We need a safe home to live in, a new start to replace what was taken from us, and support to cover the heavy losses we suffered. Your donations will help me, my parents, and my family find hope again after losing everything.
