Haslan Escalante has recently been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. This means that Haslan and Debra will be away from Yellowknife for an extended length of time as doctors determine and begin a treatment plan that is most likely longer than 6 months.

We know how shocking this news will be for those that know Haslan. He needs our help to fight against this horrible disease that has touched so many of us. His struggle will be felt by many, from the Curling Club, to Ptarmigan Ptheatrics crew, to all those that have been touched by his amazing, cheerful, contagious energy and a laugh that could ignite a room. He and his family need our strength, love and support more than ever right now.

The last thing that should worry their family during this difficult time is finances. Friends of the family have set up this Go Fund Me page to assist the Escalante/McGee family with travel to and from Edmonton and other additional expenses that aren’t covered by benefits.

The outpouring of love, support, thoughts and prayers that have been sent already are appreciated more than you know. Please keep Haslan and his family in your hearts.
