Helicopter Support for Austin King Search

In August 2025, two dedicated volunteer groups—Find-911 out of Cody, Wyoming, and Mountain Safety Group from Montana—will be leading a renewed search for Austin King in Yellowstone National Park, in conjunction with Yellowstone Park team members. Austin has been missing since September 2024, and despite extensive efforts by park authorities and volunteers, he has not yet been found. The upcoming search is scheduled to begin on August 15 and will last for one week, focusing on areas that are difficult to access without specialized support. To maximize the effectiveness of this search, we are raising funds to cover helicopter operations with a local trusted helicopter company. These helicopters will be essential for transporting search personnel and equipment in and out of remote areas within the park. In addition to flight costs, any extra funds will help provide food for the volunteers who are dedicating their time and energy to this important mission. All funds will go directly into Mountain Safety Group, 501(c)(3) compliant account. Grief and loss are a heavy reality for everyone involved in Austin’s disappearance. There is no silver lining in a situation like this—only the hope that answers can be found and that families and friends can find some measure of peace. The search is not just about finding Austin, but also about supporting those who care for him and honoring the effort and compassion of the search teams.
