Helen's Peru Expedition 2026 - Camps international
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Helen and I am travelling to Peru for a special 4 week expedition with Camps International in the Summer of 2026 as a Year 12 student.
The trip will include community development work, environmental projects, wildlife conservation and volunteer work to improve the lives of the local community.
During the expedition we will be volunteering with some of the ongoing projects run by Camps International which help to develop housing, healthcare, sanitation, food and water security, improve education as well as working on environmental protection.
We will be involved in many activities including laying foundations, plastering, decorating buildings, mixing cement, paving and planting small food crops.
The key objectives of this expedition include:
Raising living standards of developing communities, within a rural district of Peru
Raising the educational standards of developing communities within rural district of Peru
Assist with ongoing wildlife conservation programs to preserve biodiversity and protect vulnerable habitats
This expedition is extremely important to me to be able to make a positive impact in the world. I feel that I will acquire and develop many important life skills as we work with local communities to enhance Peru's educational standards and improve living conditions. It will also allow me to develop my confidence with meeting new people, and acquire new skills in life.
The trip will also include a 5 day trek to the Ancient Incan ruins of Machu Picchu in the Andes, in the middle of a beautiful tropical rainforest via the very challenging Salkantay Route which will be both an exciting challenge and a fantastic experience.
I am looking forward to the challenge and grateful of the opportunity.
I am very grateful for any contributions you can make towards my fundraising.
Thank you for your support!
