HEDRA - A Theater & Circus Performance for Lebanon

A theatre/circus performance, marrying cultures and perspectives. A poetic metaphor on Lebanon's destructive political cycles, cultural constraints and their impact on the population. Through artistic sensibility, our goal is to suggest resources to stop the cycles of pain. Pitch in to help us buy costumes and circus accessories and to take the show on the road in Lebanon.

Hanadi Rajeh is a Lebanese circus artist and gymnast. After obtaining a degree in Professional Sports Studies from the Lebanese University, she pursued a Masters degree in Sports Management. In addition, she taught gymnastics courses at the Lebanese University and the Lebanese International University (LIU). As a professional artist, trainer and former director of the social circus at Cirquenciel, her passion is to promote circus practices by engaging socially disadvantaged and/or disabled audiences and individuals. Hanadi plays in various shows in Lebanon and abroad.

Didier Bernard is a French theater artist and director with over 40 years of experience. A graduate of the Lyon Conservatory of Dramatic Art and Music. He trained in acrobatics and clowning at the Big Apple Circus School in New York, worked with various directors and produced several productions in France and abroad. Didier was a lecturer in “Language Théâtre” for several years at UFRAPS within the University Claude Bernard of Lyon. He brings experience and perspective to the show.

Our discovery of the performing arts community has been guided by strong and encouraging artistic encounters that have allowed us to overcome our backgrounds' cultural and social obstacles.
