#hearts4hockey
Throughout high school, Zoe Simonte, field hockey player from Staples High School, has shared her love of the sport by working with Healing Hearts in Stamford. She created a soft & safe floor hockey program modified to fit the special needs of the participants at Healing Hearts Adaptive Recreation. She leads field hockey sessions on Friday nights, which participants and Zoe all enjoy.
Over this time, I have involved teammates, family, and friends from Staples Field Hockey Club and beyond in different ways. I created a challenge called #hearts4hockey, where I posted your best take on air dribbling.
This program has allowed me to share my passion for not only the sport but making people smile and helping build confidence through physical activity. I feel proud of bringing attention to the power of teamwork and in this case, having a stick in hand. In addition, I look forward to every moment I get to share with those at Healing Hearts.
I am creating this GoFundMe campaign to help support the ongoing needs of Healing Hearts. Healing Hearts is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Stamford, CT that provides social and recreational programs for children, teens, and adults with special needs in Fairfield County to foster friendships, promote fitness, and support independence.
Please join me in supporting the work that Healing Hearts does to create a safe and inclusive space for special needs teens and adults. Thank you for your support, and please help spread the word!
