Our Story

Ricky & Brittany are high school sweethearts. We have been best friends, navigating life together for 17 years. We married in 2014 & are celebrating our 10th year of marriage this year, 2024. We have both always wanted a family to share our love. Through fertility struggles & pregnancy loss, we have struggled to make our dream of having a family possible.

Baby Rikki's Story,

Baby Rikki came into our lives almost as if she was sent straight from God to our arms. She came into our home at about 2 1/2 months. She instantly stole our hearts. For her privacy, we will not be sharing details of her previous situation. She came to us at a time when we needed her & she needed us. Up until this point, we have kept everything very private as we did not know how to navigate this.

Our Family Story,

We are so lucky to have a huge family to love & support her the way she deserves to be loved. We have adjusted to the parenting lifestyle very well. Becoming parents overnight is not something many people get to experience, but we held onto her strong & accepted the gift we were given. She has brought so much love to our family & friends' hearts, it's unbelievable to see.

A couple of months after she came to us, Brittany found out she may not be able to naturally conceive due to a medical condition affecting her uterus called complex atypical hyperplasia. This diagnosis was super hard mentally on both Ricky and Brittany. Baby Rikki has played a huge role in our fertility healing journey. There is a chance we could still give baby Rikki a sibling as the hyperplasia is healing, but it's not a guarantee. Soon, Brittany will need a full hysterectomy.

Where You Come In,

Since everything happened very unexpectedly & overnight, we were not ready financially to adopt. We didn't even know adoption would ever be an option for us. We are asking for donations to help fund and finalize the adoption process.

We have purchased a box of wooden hearts. For every $5 donation, we will be writing names of support for our adoption on the hearts and including them in some way, to show baby Rikki how much love & support she really has.

Baby Rikki has truly been a miracle for our family.
