Hearts for Champ and the Williams Family

Hello friends, family and community,

We are reaching out on behalf of a little warrior, Chamberlain “Champ” Bootsy Williams, who has bravely faced more challenges in his 11 months of life than many of us do in a lifetime. Champ, the youngest son of Sydney and Patrick Williams, and the adorable little brother to Livingston and Reggie, has spent much of his young life in and out of the hospital in Oakland and San Francisco due to a heart condition that requires another critical heart surgery. During this next surgery, a team of cardiologists will work to correct an aortic stenosis, and an ENT surgeon will also open up his bronchus to see if that will prevent his lungs from collapsing and help him to breathe better overall.

Since the day Champ was born, he has shown us the true meaning of strength and resilience. However, the road ahead is still long and filled with challenges for the little one and his family. Champ's upcoming surgery will require both a heart and lung bypass and him to be intubated for 14-16 hours, followed by a 6-8 week recovery in the hospital.

To ensure Champ is in the best possible condition for his surgery, the surgical team has asked the Williams family to isolate for 6 weeks prior to protect Champ from any potential respiratory illnesses during flu season. This is due to his history with multiple respiratory viruses and handful of hospital stays. The Williams family is currently trying to figure out logistics of one or both parents being out of work as well as keeping the older brothers in their routines of school and activities. This may mean splitting up the family so one parent and Champ can isolate outside of the home, which would be devastating for their family right before the big surgery and a long hospital stay.

We are reaching out to you to rally around the Williams family in their time of need. Your support will allow Sydney and Patrick to focus on their family and Champ's recovery. We are setting up this GoFundMe to raise funds for:

- Additional housing cost in the Bay Area

- Travel expenses

- Additional help for Livingston and Reggie

- Reduced income and lost wages for the past 11 months
