Hearts Company: Join Us to Make a Difference!

The Hearts Company, an organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through education. The Hearts Company supports four schools in Cambodia, with my volunteering assignment being at Dream School. Their focus lies in offering crucial English and computer skills classes, recognizing their pivotal role in breaking the chains of poverty in today's interconnected world.

It's important to note that each student in Cambodia receives ONLY $1.75 annually from the government for supplies. Poverty rates are distressingly high, particularly in rural areas where many families perceive education as a luxury rather than a necessity for survival. These students primarily come from families in low-paying industries such as farming, where the average annual income is a mere $300. In manufacturing, some families earn as little as $0.50 per hour. Education often takes a backseat to immediate financial needs, perpetuating the vicious cycle of poverty.

Providing a backpack filled with school supplies for one student for an academic year costs about $25. Backpacks are approximately $5.00, with $20.00 allocated for school supplies.

My aim is to raise $2,500, which would equip 100 children with backpacks and school supplies for a year. Every child deserves the fundamental right to education. Denying them this right denies them a future, opportunity, and the chance for a decent livelihood, effectively trapping them in a cycle of poverty for life. Any contribution towards this cause is immensely appreciated and will forever be cherished.
