Heart in Hand LA is a community service group founded by UCLA students in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. By working to reduce the risk of COVID-19, we have taken the initiative to create safer living conditions for the homeless population of Los Angeles at a time that is most needed. We strive to achieve this goal by providing these vulnerable communities with masks and hygiene care packages. It is clear that hygiene and health go hand in hand. As such, our overall mission is to provide homeless individuals with the necessary resources and tools to improve their hygiene, and in turn their overall mental and physical health.
In order to fulfill our mission, we work to collect donations that provide us with adequate funds that are required to create these masks and hygiene care packages. We then work to distribute these items by partnering with homeless shelters, clinics, and other related organizations. In light of this, we are constantly providing a multitude of volunteering opportunities to people who wish to be part of our cause.
