My name is Victoria Still and I am seeking financial help for my father, Robert Higgins, Sr.

At the beginning of May, he was found in the restroom at home passed out. He was taken to the ER, where it was determined he had a heart attack. Where it was found he had two clots in his heart. The doctors did several tests and found that the lower portion of his heart was not functioning either, and he has two separate infections attacking his body. He was transferred to Piedmont Atlanta. I traveled and stayed with him in Atlanta for over a week. He was released and put on an external defibrillator and intravenous antibiotics. The doctors were not positive if anything else could be done. After a week of being home with me, he was released to go back to work in a hands-off only position. Doctors felt it would be best for his mental health as well as his physical health. Dad worked a full week. He said he was feeling great and talked about taking a cruise with my daughter when she got older. Last Friday, while I was at work, he was not feeling well. An ambulance was called to take him to the ER. It was determined that he suffered a stroke. While in the hospital Saturday, he was complaining of a headache and being nauseous. He also had trouble breathing and was placed on a ventilator. Later that evening, he had another stroke, this time leaving the left side of his body paralyzed and having no sight. Tests showed he had swelling on the brain, which called for emergency surgery to release the pressure. He has communicated by squeezing. As of today, doctors are hopeful that he may get to return home. More tests are to be done tomorrow to check all his vitals, including the pressure on his brain. Dad is the primary breadwinner in the house. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated between the medical bills piling up and the cost of living. Please, keep him and our family in your prayers. update. My dad passed away at 5:50 this morning following a massive heart attack. He is at peace and no longer in any pain and suffering but now starts the funeral costs and planning and all support is thanked!
