HELP THE HEALTHY FRESNO AIR TEAM REACH ITS GOAL OF 115 / AND REPAIR DAMAGED PURPLE AIRS
In the summer of 2017, a young man by the name of Kieshaun White created a project out of curiosity. He wondered if the Air Quality in his city was a factor in the life expectancy difference of 25 years between the wealthiest and poorest parts of the city. Armed with a $1000 grant from the pollination project through which he purchased a drone and an air monitor, Kieshaun began his experiment. To his amazement he learned that air quality in the poorest parts of Fresno, Ca was 4x worse in the poorer areas than in the wealthier ones, and air quality was 8 times worse in the poorest area than the richest.
Armed with this knowledge Kieshaun built a team, Healthy Fresno Air, who began installing monitors in local schools and churches and built an app to display results in real time for Fresno residents.
