Hello Everyone, I am fundraising for healthcare and financial freedom on GoFundMe. Though this fundraiser is for myself, I am also an Entrepreneur and I have founded businesses that can grow into the future. By enabling me with better healthcare and improving my credit situation through donations, I can be closer to financial freedom and work more efficiently in our community. As a social entrepreneur who has built websites and startups, I have an improved capability to build online communities. I’m dedicated to healthcare needs and am trained in financial analysis. Also, I hope that Skylight Partners can become a Community Site for supporters, and maybe a place to kick-off group projects. I founded Skylight Partners as a consultancy, but maybe our cause can be to become a community for donors or crowdfunding real estate. About Healthcare

As an Entrepreneur I have neglected taking care of my personal health due to cost and time pressures. I should have had annual check-ups and haven’t maintained enough insurance protection. I also wear glasses and my teeth hurt periodically, but I’ve been trying just to get by. Consistent healthcare has been an unaffordable luxury for me.

During college at UC Irvine, I was recruited by Asians for Miracle Marrow Matches (A3M) at University of California, Irvine for the National Marrow Donor Program. I later matched on the Be The Match Registry® and donated stem cells for a patient suffering from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Being a business owner has been challenging. I have lost weight from around 160 pounds (73 kg) to 130 pounds (59 kg) over the past few years. I am 5’9” tall (175 cm), so my Body Mass Index is almost underweight and I should eat more. Maybe this has affected my teeth and dental care, since my molar chipped while flossing, and I need help to get it fixed. I do take calcium supplements periodically and use my night guard.

I am a delivery driver on DoorDash, but order activity in my area varies and I haven't been regular enough to qualify for the healthcare stipend. But over time, I have successfully completed a lot of deliveries for people, and I like the convenience of DoorDash. I would make more if I had a more fuel-efficient car, but I need to improve my credit.

About My Healthcare: Estimated immediate dental need of $1,000 including office visits, molar repair, and other health expenses like insurance.

About Financial Freedom

Becoming an Entrepreneur was a challenging transition for me from working in established companies. After I was laid-off, I started studying for a Microsoft Power BI Certification, which I later earned. I lost my layoff proceeds on risky investments, and I had to bootstrap my businesses with my family’s help and gig economy income. My parents work and have delayed their retirement, since my situation has been difficult. That is why I hope my GoFundMe can help us. My parents have Medicare, and I am worried that coverage is not enough.

I drive a 2008 Infiniti G35, and my car has served me well over the years having 174,596 miles on the odometer. Maybe you will enjoy that I have a personalized license plate, which is Chinese for “Add Oil” (Jiāyóu 加油).

My car performs well for DoorDash and other activities, but I’m not sure how much farther we can drive. I hope that a more fuel-efficient car like a hybrid or electric vehicle would be better for deliveries and transporting products or business supplies.

Most of my career experience has been in financial services, so even posting this GoFundMe is embarrassing. My credit score has dropped to the low 500’s, and I even have a paid-off mortgage on my credit report. I've gone through collections and settled accounts and also think I could manage without considering bankruptcy.

When my credit was better, I was able to use balance transfers to move debt to lower my interest costs. But as my credit has declined, I receive less offers and am further trapped in high interest debt. These are credit cards that have been closed by the creditor, so I pay them more like installment loans and have a payment arrangement. I’ve had these accounts for years, yet don’t have access to that available credit.

Personal loans are expensive and have high interest costs for my credit. I have been paid-off a significant amount already though, and am almost there.

I wouldn’t recommend using credit cards with annual fees and high interest rates. Though the credit can help in emergencies, the interest costs are high and may even move one’s financial situation backwards over time.

About My Financial Freedom: I have personal credit cards and loans over $8,000. I continue to pay, so the balance should drop, but payments pay a lot of interest rather than principal. Average APR is 20%+, and most offers for personal credit have no meaningful results.

About Business & Entrepreneurship

As a new Entrepreneur, I have been applying to business accelerators, but am still looking for supporters. Unfortunately income didn't keep up with expenses, but things are manageable after founding the companies and starting work. We’ve had to bootstrap the companies as they’ve developed, which has been challenging and slow at times.

For charitable causes as a company, I don’t have a charity or philanthropic arm established yet. 24 Hour Pets Incorporated is a for-profit business in the pet industry, and with scale we can possibly provide community benefits for animal welfare like a directory of shelters or pet social media.

My financial situation also causes distress aside from the business implications since I haven’t been spending money on personal enjoyment over the years. I am a fan of Taylor Swift, and with my credit I can’t even buy a concert ticket to The Eras Tour. This worries me because I wonder when she might tour again. We're also working on a website on Blogspot for her song lyrics and videos, at: https://taylor-nation.blogspot.com/. Obviously this isn’t comparable to healthcare needs, but it does cause me pain since I work from home and watch from the sidelines.

As an Entrepreneur I am on the lookout for business accelerators and incubators. Recently I enrolled in the Verizon Small Business Digital Ready Program, and I attended a seminar on Alternative Funding for Small Business in tandem with SCORE. Leigh Lehman from GoFundMe presented and motivated me to restart my campaign, since I withdrew my earlier effort.
