Health for Bicol: Hopeful Hearts Medical Mission

Thank you for visiting our page! We are Hopeful Hearts Medical Mission, a volunteer effort spanning Los Angeles to the Philippines, and dedicated to serving the Bicol Region of the Philippines.
In October 2024, Tropical Storm Kristine hit the Philippines, displacing over 760,000 people and causing 145 fatalities across 17 regions, including our hometown of Bicol. To support our friends, family, and communities impacted by the hurricane, we founded Hopeful Hearts, and just one month later, successfully launched our first medical mission in November 2024. Through the dedication of our team, we served over 300 patients across four barangays in Bicol and visited two elementary schools—delivering both free medical assistance and hope to those in need.
In August 2025, Hopeful Hearts will be returning for our second medical mission. This time, we aim to expand our reach across 22 barangays within Bicol, while continuing to provide:
- Direct point-of-care testing and basic wellness check-ups with physicians and medical technicians
- Necessary over-the-counter medications, multivitamins, supplements, and prescriptions
- Health, wellness, and preventative education
- Uniforms, wellness/hygiene kits, and classroom supplies for local, underprivileged elementary schools and special education students
To make this mission possible, we need your support. Every donation, big or small, helps us continue this work and expand our reach. With your generosity, we can provide the following:
- Trained medical physicians and technicians
- Point of care testing (for uric acid, cholesterol, glucose, and hemoglobin) and supplies (including diagnostic devices, test strips, syringes, rubber tourniquets, disposable bed pads, disinfectant, etc.)
- Medications (for conditions such as hypertension, hyperuricemia, diabetes, high cholesterol, bronchial irritation, pain, fever, and more)
- Multivitamins and supplements (including prenatal vitamins, calcium, iron, ascorbic acid, Vitamin B12, child/adult multivitamins, and specialized diabetes formulas)
- Toiletries, sundries, and health kits (such as hand sanitizer, soap, towels, washcloths, toothpaste, and toothbrushes)
- Classroom essentials (including desks, supplies, uniforms, and slippers)
