A Journey to Stability: Healing While Living in a System That Wasn’t Built for Me
For over 24 years, I have been navigating life as a disabled woman—fighting not just for my health, but for my ability to live with dignity inside a medical system that often feels impossible to survive.
I have spent decades advocating for myself, searching for answers, and pushing through pain that most people will never see.
Because here’s the truth:
chronic pain is often invisible—but that does not make it any less real.
What you don’t always see is what it takes just for me to get through a single day.
Over time, my diagnoses have grown to more than 25 conditions, including
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Lyme disease, degenerative disc disease, thyroid cancer, eczema, endometriosis—and more.
Each diagnosis came with another layer of complexity.
Another bill.
Another treatment not covered.
Another moment of choosing between care and stability.
And like so many people in this country, I have done what we’re told to do—I have worked, saved, and shown up for my life.
But the truth is:
the American healthcare system has drained me.
I have repeatedly used my savings to pay for the care my body requires to function.
Not luxury care. Not optional care.
Necessary care.
What You Don’t See
If you follow me, you’ve seen pieces of my life—my work, my energy, my presence.
What you may not see is what it takes behind the scenes to show up that way.
The time.
The energy.
The daily routines just to get my body moving, to reduce pain, to function.
Every day requires intention, care, and effort just to exist in a body that needs constant support.
And while I show up with strength, humor, and purpose—
it comes at a cost.
Why This Fund Exists
Healing doesn’t happen in survival mode.
This fund is here to help me create the stability needed to actually heal—not just push through.
Your support will go directly toward:
Mortgage and essential living expenses, so I can maintain a stable home
Out-of-pocket medical care that insurance refuses to cover
Specialized treatments for EDS and chronic illness
Lab work, imaging, and ongoing diagnostics
Physical therapy and mobility support
Mental health care for the long-term impact of chronic illness
The Reality
You cannot heal when you are constantly doing impossible math.
Choosing between a doctor’s appointment and groceries.
Between treatment and keeping your home.
Between rest and pushing through just to survive.
I have done that math for years.
And I am tired.
Why I’m Asking for Help
If you’ve ever known me—through my work, my community, my businesses—then you know I am someone who shows up.
I help people build stability.
I help people become homeowners.
I help people step into the next chapter of their lives.
Right now, I am asking for support so I can do the same for myself.
Because when I am supported, I can:
Focus on healing my body
Reduce the constant financial stress tied to my care
Continue doing what I love—helping people get into homes and build their futures
If You Feel Called
If my story resonates with you…
If you’ve ever dealt with chronic illness or know someone who has…
If you believe people deserve care without losing everything…
Here’s how you can support me:
Donate what you can—every dollar truly makes a difference
Share this with your community—visibility matters
Continue to support my work and refer me to anyone looking to buy or sell a home
Because supporting me isn’t just helping me heal—
it’s helping me continue to show up and do the work I love.
