Reins of Life is a faith-based organization dedicated to bringing hope and healing to individuals facing behavioral, emotional, mental, physical, or spiritual challenges. Rooted in the powerful connection between horses and humans, Reins of Life provides a space where transformation and growth can flourish. Guided by a vision to serve others through the beauty and strength of God’s creation, the horse, the organization operates on deeply held core values. These include generosity in service, hope anchored in faith, excellence and integrity in all actions, and gratitude for the opportunity to impact lives. With a steadfast belief in God’s guidance, Reins of Life strives to help every individual become all they were created to be.

Reins of Life is located in the foothills of Northeast Georgia’s Appalachian Mountains—a peaceful, rural area with limited resources for struggling youth. Many young people here face serious challenges such as poverty, mental health issues, school failure, substance exposure, and unstable home lives. Research shows that proper socialization and access to positive role models are crucial, yet many of these youth lack both.

Through Equine Assisted Learning (EAL), Reins of Life’s programs help participants develop essential life skills, build self-esteem, and replace negative coping behaviors with healthier ones. Reins of Life provides a transformative space where youth can discover their potential, learn responsibility, and make better choices for a brighter future.

We also offer adaptive riding services for those with physical and emotional disabilities, using the unique and effective movement of the horse to affect change in the bodies and minds of referred riders.

For the 2025–2026 year, Reins of Life anticipates ~$30,185 in essential operating expenses to support its mission of healing through horses. This includes funding for part-time barn staff, horse care for eight equine partners, and critical needs like veterinary services, insurance, and facility maintenance. Utilities and everyday supplies also play a role in keeping the program running smoothly. Each line item reflects the practical costs of delivering impactful, life-changing experiences for participants in a safe and nurturing environment.
