My name is Megan, and I’m raising funds to support Indigenous-led healing retreats for veterans and their families.
This cause is deeply personal to me.
I’ve watched the man I love—a disabled veteran—carry invisible wounds that don’t show up neatly on medical charts. PTSD, moral injury, grief, and nervous system exhaustion don’t just affect veterans—they ripple through marriages, families, and children. They change how love functions. They change how safety feels inside the body.
Over the years, I’ve witnessed something remarkable.
Through traditional, faith-based Indigenous ceremonies—led by Native elders and rooted in prayer, community, and reverence—I’ve seen veterans soften, breathe, and reconnect to something they thought they’d lost forever. I’ve seen families find language for pain that medicine couldn’t touch. I’ve seen men who were drowning in isolation finally feel held.
These retreats are not about escape.
They are about responsibility, healing, and restoration.
They offer veterans and their families:
Safe, sacred space to process trauma
Indigenous teachings centered on humility, prayer, and accountability
Community support that includes spouses and children
A non-pharmaceutical path to nervous system regulation and spiritual grounding
The funds raised will go directly toward:
Lodging and food for veteran families
Ceremony and retreat expenses
Supporting elders and facilitators who donate immense labor and wisdom
Making sure no veteran is turned away due to financial hardship
There are no executive salaries. No marketing budgets. No middlemen.
This is grassroots, heart-led work.
My goal is to raise $10,000 to help sponsor multiple veterans and families so they can attend these healing weekends without added burden.
If you’ve ever loved a veteran…
If you’ve ever watched someone suffer quietly…
If you believe healing should include the whole family…
Your support—whether through donation or sharing—means more than I can say.
Thank you for helping restore what service took.
With gratitude,
Megan
