Hi everyone,
I never imagined I would be writing something like this, but I’m reaching out with a deeply personal dream that I hope to bring to life—with your help.
I’m currently a doctor in training, working toward a future in palliative care. Every day, I witness the quiet courage of people facing some of life’s most difficult moments. In these spaces, where medicine can’t always heal, compassion, comfort, and connection become everything.
That’s where Raven comes in.
Raven is my gentle, intuitive rough collie, and together we hope to train her to become a certified volunteer therapy dog. Our goal is simple but meaningful: to bring moments of warmth, calm, and companionship to patients in hospitals—especially the elderly and those who may be feeling isolated, frightened, or nearing the end of life.
There is something truly special about the presence of a dog. I’ve seen how a soft nuzzle or a wagging tail can light up someone’s face in a way nothing else can. For patients who may not have family nearby, or who are struggling emotionally, these visits can ease anxiety, reduce loneliness, and create small but powerful moments of joy. Sometimes, it’s these moments that matter most.
To make this dream possible, I’m raising funds to cover:
• Raven’s therapy dog training and certification
• Ongoing veterinary care to ensure her health and safety
• Dog insurance to support her wellbeing as a working volunteer
Every dollar will go toward helping Raven safely and successfully step into this role, so that together we can give back to those who need it most.
This isn’t just about training a dog—it’s about creating comfort where there is fear, companionship where there is loneliness, and light in moments that can feel very heavy.
If you’re able to support us, even in a small way, it would mean the world. And if you can’t donate, sharing this would help us more than you know.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
With gratitude,
Ed & Raven
