In 2021, Mo saved Connie’s life.
She had collapsed suddenly from a ruptured brain aneurysm—one of the deadliest medical emergencies there is. Mo acted fast, calling Triple Zero and performing CPR. Paramedics later confirmed: his quick thinking and calm under pressure saved her life.
But saving her was only the beginning.
Mo has spent the next four years by Connie’s side, helping her recover, supporting her through rehab and therapy, and holding their lives together with quiet, steady love.
And through it all, there was something most people didn’t know:

Mo wasn’t safe either.

A Life in Limbo
Mo came to Australia as a Pakistani asylum seeker in 2013. He risked his life to get here, travelling in dangerous conditions that stretched months and during his crazy and dangerous journey to Australia, a major change in immigration policy was announced, that changed everything leaving him trapped on a bridging visa—for over 12 years.
He has lived, worked, and contributed to the community, played in local Melbourne cricket clubs, volunteered, and helped raise awareness for first aid. And yet, he’s had no pathway to permanent residency, no stability, and the constant fear of deportation—even after all these years.
In 2022, Mo and Connie requested Ministerial Intervention to change that. And earlier this year, after years of waiting, they were finally granted approval to apply for a Partner Visa—the only way Mo can legally stay in Australia.

Love, Loyalty… and a Dog Named Archie
Mo and Connie are simply trying to live a normal life.
They’ve made a home together. They got a rescue dog named Archie (yes, he’s very spoiled). They dream of saving for a home, starting a family, and putting the uncertainty behind them.
But the next step in that journey comes with a heavy price:
$15,000 in legal and visa fees to submit Mo’s partner visa application.

How You Can Help
This GoFundMe will help cover:
• Immigration lawyer fees
• Visa application and processing costs
• Required documentation
Mo and Connie are hardworking and saving what they can—but after 12 years of instability, and 4.5 years of medical recovery, we’re asking for your help to finally give them the break they deserve.

Why This Story Matters
• Because Mo saved a life—and then rebuilt it.
• Because love shouldn’t come with conditions.
• Because everyone deserves a safe place to belong.
Mo was recently recognized with an honourable mention from the 2024 St John Ambulance First Aid Awards, after Connie spent years trying to find someone—anyone—who would acknowledge what he did for her.

But now, we can give him something even more meaningful:
A chance to stay. A way forward. A real home.

Let’s Help Them Finish What They Started
They’ve done everything right.
They’ve given everything they had.
Now they just need that final bit of help to secure their future.

Please donate what you can. Every contribution—big or small—gets them closer to the life they’ve already begun building together.

Thank you for reading, thank you for caring, and thank you for being part of their journey.
