Maybe it's the Pandemic. Maybe it's the election. Maybe it's just time. But we are raising money to get this amazing person her US citizenship.
As of October 2020, the fee for Naturalization in the United States is $725. This might change following the election... but we'll see.
Two of Hazel's core values is being a mother and community. We can do NOTHING without our community. She would not have been able to finish seminary, raise kids, or move to California... without her community.
And now, let's show up, Community. Let's show up, family. Let's show up, friends.
The Real Talk part: Becoming a US citizen is EXPENSIVE. Hazel has not been able to afford the costs because any money that's come in has had to go to her family.
So not only are we raising money for her citizenship, but we're raising a little extra so she can use it for a break. A treat. A vacation. Or a really expensive massage. Whatever she wants.
