Harrys Residential Care Fund

Hi Everybody.

My name is JAYNE LISTER, aged 68. I want to raise funds for my grandson, Harry Scott.

Harry has a condition called “Angel Man syndrome”. He has a genetic

disorder. He cannot walk or talk, but he is a happy little boy and double incontinent.

Because he crawls everywhere and his upper body is very strong. He will be 17-years-old in February.

He needs more help and a placement in a residential care. We as a family have been fighting with social services for a long time to get him on placement. But to no avail.

Their motto is “Children First” that’s just a bad joke.

His own father left my daughter when he was a baby. As he could not cope with his disabilities. So as a family we have done our best to give him everything he needs.

Occupational help have tried their best for him too. But he is so strong now, he can get out of hoists and things.

He loves water, lights and his Hot Tub. He will crawl around and try to take things to bits. He will also eat anything, so we have to be careful.

I want to be sponsored to raise funds for his bedroom furniture. I.e., wardrobe, a chest of drawers, etc.

It has to be made special, with no handles or he will open them, he will even try and eat them. If I could give my life up to save him, I would in a heartbeat. His mum is not well herself now. But God knows how she still drags him about. Maybe one day they will be able to replace Genes, but not in my lifetime.

I will have my hair shaved off in a video. This is for people to see.

It will break our hearts when he goes, but we have to do what is best way forward for him. He has a normal lifespan.
