I wonder if you can help me make a dark moment a little brighter for someone?
We are very lucky to have our beautiful daughter Florence, but recently and unfortunately not for the first time, Marlenka and I have had the use of the bereavement suite in Harrogate Maternity Unit. The 'suite' is a room set aside for parents who have lost a baby either very late on in pregnancy or shortly after the birth.
Some parents choose to use the room for a short time to say goodbye and some use the room for a number of days in order to come to terms with what has just happened and to spend as much time with their little one before the funeral.
We want to be able to make this time as comfortable as possible for other parents going through the same thing we have. The room is currently very clinical, cold and tatty and could really do with refurbishing top to bottom.
The hospital agrees with us and with your help, we can all bring a little comfort to parents going through a very difficult experience.
So how can you help?........
On 11th August I will be cycling 102 miles (164km) in the Sigma Yorkshire Sportive and it would be great if you could sponsor me. The route will take me up and down some of Yorkshire famous hills. Yes, the ones on the tour de Yorkshire!
