Harrison's Eagle Scout Project: Ivy Hawn Outdoor Oasis

My name is Harrison Bitler. I am a sophomore at Deland High School and a current Life Scout with Troop 340, working towards my Eagle rank. As part of the Eagle rank, I need to lead a project for my community, including fundraising for it. For my Eagle project, I am creating a space at Ivy Hawn Charter School of the Arts in Lake Helen where teachers can relax and bring students for outdoor enrichment. I attended Ivy Hawn for 9 years and want to give back to the school that did so much for me and cultivated my love of the arts.

I will be taking a current space that includes a historic live oak tree, cleaning it up, and installing picnic tables, an aquatic garden, and a fence to go around the garden. This space will be able to be used by teachers for lunches with students, outdoor classes, or just time for them to relax during their lunch.

This is something that the staff at Ivy Hawn has been requesting for years. I am so happy I have the opportunity to do something wonderful for them and could really use your help to raise funds for this project.
